Preparing for Brexit

Preparing for Brexit - AFS Haulage

As part of the UK's number one pallet network Palletways, AFS Haulage is doing everything possible to support your business and your customers during the Brexit transition period. Whether the UK gets a Brexit deal or no deal with the EU, import and export processes will change. All parties must prepare to ensure that goods shipped to and from the EU remain compliant.

To aid this, AFS and Palletways have prepared several downloadable documents to guide you through the process. If you have any further questions about how Brexit may affect your EU consignments, get in touch with our team today.

Letter of Representation

In order for Palletways to import and export goods between the UK and the EU on your behalf, you must complete a Letter of Representation. This letter authorises Palletways to handle Brexit customs and import/export on your behalf.

Declaring Your Goods

From 1st January 2021, additional information will be required for goods that you move between the UK and the EU. Failure to provide this additional information could result in fines and shipping delays.

To minimise these delays, AFS and Palletways will perform a number of checks to ensure that your goods remain compliant, however it is still important for you to be familiar with these new processes. Below is the updated Customer Information Pack which can be downloaded to help guide you through the new import/export process.
